Process Engineer
Work under the direction of the VP of Operations to lead a team of process technicians that create and maintain production SOP’s and controls to produce quality goods while maintaining standard cycles and safety.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Minimum of 3 yrs. experience in Injection/ Extrusion molding or Technical training
- Experience with process simulations and standard operating procedures
- Able to project manage and lead a small team of Process Technicians
- Able to work safely, lead safety initiatives and participate in Safety Incident and Nearmiss
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Providing molded components in a timely manner, to ensure production schedules are met
- Meeting with Production Manager and Process staff to assess existing processes
- Drafting process ideas to reduce costs and improve production rates
- Performing risk assessments
- Designing and testing process upgrades and new process systems
- Ensuring processes comply with safety and quality standards
- Performing process simulations and troubleshooting issues
- Performing optimization tests
- Developing routines and best practices to ensure product quality
- Generating documentation on molding runs that can be used to control traceability and ensure reproductivity
- Work overtime / adjusted work schedule as required
- Developing standardized operating instructions for the upgrades process
- Providing the Product Manager with process documents and standard operating procedures
- Monitoring upgrades systems
- Assist with material management including the processing of scrap and regrind produced
ADA Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 35 lbs. to shoulder height
- Must be able to wear proper protective equipment
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend and climb for 50% of a shift
- Must be able to use a keyboard and mouse
